Project Description
Activities included overseeing exploratory coring activities to ascertain the thickness of overburden material and the quality of limestone. Geologic core samples were evaluated for physical and chemical analysis including load bearing ratios, magnesium, and calcium sulfate percentages and for grain size tests to ascertain the percentages of sand, silt, and clay. Other activities provided included a review of existing mining permits, such as Environmental Resource, Water Use, and NPDES permits; and mining permits required by the Florida Bureau of Mines as well as local and state permitting agencies. Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments were completed as well to evaluate the property and surrounding land for the presence of recognized environmental conditions that could have with current and former uses of the property.
