Project Description
The Environmental People staff will working at another consulting firm were responsible for managing a Contamination Assessment and preparing a Contamination Assessment Report (CAR) for a maintenance facility of a golf course located in Lee County, Florida. The facility, which has been in continuous operation since 1980, was required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Consent Order to determine the nature and extent of soil contamination and if ground water had been impacted by past operations.
The investigation focused on an area near the maintenance building where leaking 55‑gallon drums suspected of containing toxaphene were found, as well as at two additional locations where equipment and tanks suspected of containing pesticides were cleaned. To provide information for comparison, environmental sampling activities were also conducted in a background location near the 15th fairway.
