Newell’s Gas Station / Site Assessment

While working at another consulting firm our Principal Geologist was responsible for providing soil and groundwater evaluation services at the former Newell’s gas station in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Under the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Preapproval Petroleum Cleanup Program, this site was eligible for cleanup funding from the abandoned tank restoration program (ATRP). E Sciences performed testing services to determine whether petroleum constituents are present in the soil and/or groundwater.

Work on the project included:

  • Underground Utility Clearance/Site Health and Safety Plan/Notification to both the FDEP and the property owner
  • Soil and Water Quality Evaluation
  • Soil Screening and Soil Sampling Actions
  • Groundwater Quality Screening
  • Evaluating Groundwater according to Florida Groundwater Cleanup criteria
  • Investigative Derived Waste Management
  • Template Site Assessment Report preparation
